Privacy Policy
Effective date: September 10, 2026
Chris Rensch (“I,” “me,” or “my”) operates chrisrensch.com in British Columbia, Canada. This policy explains how personal information is collected, used, disclosed, and protected when you visit this website, submit an inquiry, or contact me.
I am responsible for personal information under my control and handle it in accordance with British Columbia’s Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) and other applicable privacy laws.
Privacy contact: privacy@chrisrensch.com
1. Information collected
Information you provide
When you submit an inquiry or contact me, the information collected may include your name, email address, telephone number, communication preferences, the services you are interested in, and other information you choose to provide.
Inquiries may contain sensitive personal information. Please provide only what is reasonably necessary to respond to your inquiry, and avoid submitting detailed health information or clinical records through the website form.
Information collected through the website
Wix and website analytics services may collect technical and usage information, including your IP address, approximate location, browser and device information, pages visited, referral source, visit times, website interactions, and cookie or similar identifiers.
Cookie preferences and related consent records may also be collected.
2. How information is used
Personal information is used as reasonably necessary to:
-
Respond to inquiries and communicate with you;
-
Understand the general nature of your request;
-
Coordinate an appropriate next step, including service availability or scheduling;
-
Maintain inquiry and administrative records;
-
Operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the website;
-
Understand website usage through analytics, subject to applicable consent requirements; and
-
Meet legal obligations and address privacy, security, or legal matters.
Submitting an inquiry does not subscribe you to promotional communications or create a therapist–client relationship. Consent for counselling and clinical information practices is addressed separately if services begin.
3. Bigin forms and Treehouse Trauma Centre
The inquiry form is hosted by Zoho Bigin. Information submitted through it is sent to the Bigin customer relationship management system used to manage inquiries.
Treehouse Trauma Centre Inc.’s client care coordinator handles inquiries submitted through this website. Your submission is therefore made available to Treehouse for the purpose of responding, coordinating follow-up, and helping arrange an appropriate next step. Authorized personnel may access the information as needed for those purposes.
Treehouse is responsible for information under its control. Its own privacy policy also applies to its handling of your inquiry and any subsequent services. You may request a copy through the coordinator or contact me at privacy@chrisrensch.com.
Please submit another person’s information only when you have appropriate authority or consent to do so.
4. Cookies, analytics, and consent choices
This website is hosted by Wix and uses Wix Analytics and Google Analytics to understand how visitors reach and use the site.
Essential cookies and similar technologies support website operation, security, and stability. Analytics technologies help measure visits, page views, referral sources, and website interactions.
The website uses Usercentrics for Wix to present cookie choices and manage consent. You can accept or decline non-essential cookies and revisit your preferences through the website’s cookie-settings control. Usercentrics and Wix may process information needed to record and apply those choices.
You can also restrict or delete cookies through your browser. Browser settings may affect website functionality and do not replace the website’s consent controls.
This website does not use advertising pixels or embedded videos.
The Bigin form is a separate service and may use technologies necessary to operate and secure the form. Choosing whether to submit an inquiry is separate from choosing whether to allow analytics cookies.
5. Service providers and disclosures
Information may be processed by providers that support the website and inquiry process, including:
-
Wix, for website hosting, operation, and analytics;
-
Google, for Google Analytics;
-
Usercentrics, for cookie-consent management;
-
Zoho Bigin, for forms and inquiry management; and
-
Email and information-technology providers needed to respond to inquiries and operate these services.
Information is also shared with Treehouse Trauma Centre as described above.
Disclosures are limited to what is reasonably necessary for the relevant purpose. Information may also be disclosed where authorized or required by law, including to comply with a court order or address a legally permitted emergency or security matter.
6. Processing outside Canada
Service providers may store or process personal information outside British Columbia or Canada. Information processed in another jurisdiction may be subject to that jurisdiction’s laws, including lawful access by its courts or public authorities.
Using a service provider does not remove my responsibility for personal information under my control.
7. Consent
Consent is sought in a manner appropriate to the information and its sensitivity. Where consent is required, information is collected, used, or disclosed for the purposes explained when it is requested.
You may withdraw consent by contacting privacy@chrisrensch.com, subject to applicable legal restrictions and reasonable notice. Any consequences will be explained—for example, an inability to continue responding to an inquiry without contact information.
Withdrawing consent does not invalidate earlier lawful processing or require deletion of information that must be retained by law.
8. Retention
Personal information is retained only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy and applicable legal requirements.
Retention depends on the type of information, whether an inquiry leads to services, and any applicable recordkeeping or dispute-resolution obligations. Records held by Treehouse are also subject to its applicable retention practices.
When information is no longer needed and retention is no longer legally or operationally necessary, it is securely deleted or de-identified. You may contact me for information about the retention period applicable to your records.
9. Safeguards
Reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards are used to protect personal information, taking its sensitivity into account. These include limiting access to people who need the information for their work and using appropriate account and system protections.
No internet transmission or storage system is completely secure. Please limit the sensitive information you include in ordinary email or initial inquiries.
10. Access, correction, and complaints
You may contact privacy@chrisrensch.com to request access to your personal information, information about its use or disclosure, or correction of inaccurate or incomplete information.
Identity verification may be necessary before a request can be fulfilled. Requests will be handled within applicable legal timelines, subject to permitted exceptions and extensions.
If your request concerns records controlled by Treehouse, I will explain how to direct it to the appropriate person.
Privacy concerns may also be sent to the email above. You may contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia at oipc.bc.ca.
11. External websites
Links may direct you to websites operated by other organizations. Their privacy policies apply to information collected when you use those services independently.
12. Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated to reflect changes in the website or information-handling practices. The current version will be posted here with its effective date. Material changes will be communicated appropriately, and additional consent will be sought where required.
